Fernbridge, CA - Waiting in LIne

Not much to say about today. We left San Frnacisco and headed north to Crescent City with an overnight stop in Fernbridge. Nice drive through the hills and forests of northern California - until we hit the rain.

On and off for the whole trip. Boy, are our Jeep and RV dirty. Shucks.

We were tooling right along, enjoying the scenery when - we hit the 2-hour stop along the highway for an accident. We saw a flashing traffic sign that said there was an accident ahead and we saw lots of Humboldt County Fire men and lots of State Troopers buzzing up and down the highway in the other lanes, but we saw no cars heading south in those lanes. They were as backed up as we were - no, they were backed up much more than we were since there were more people heading south and north. Then, after 2 hours in line, we finally got to to and we saw nothing that looked like an accident except a semi on a tow truck.

We did notice the snow in some of the hills.

A while later, we found our cozy campsite at the back of a casino parking lot. Cozy, level, guarded by security and quiet. Could we ask for anything more?
