We even got to watch a bit of it. You’ll probably not have a problem guessing that I graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, IA - but, oh so long ago - in 1968.

As I’ve mentioned before, we don’t watch much TV - we do try to watch the news in the evening - while we’re eating dinner. But, then, if we don’t have TV available, like when we’re in the Everglades, we do something else while we eat dinner. I do like to watch Downton Abbey and got into it during the 3rd season when we were in Palm Springs - and had a good signal from the local PBS station. But then we moved to a campground with a bad signal and that was that.

This year has been the same - until, as I have related, we learned that part of our problem was that our weak PBS signal was further hampered by the lighting in our RV. Ah, well.

Thus, I would have missed the ISU game two nights ago unless my brother had called us to tell us that it was on ESPN. Holy Toledo, we even have cable in our current campground and could actually watch the game. Close game and it only became a ‘good’ game when they won. Last night it was Kansas and we were eagerly looking forward to it. But, when I turned ESPN on, they were showing another game. Oh, shucks. We’re in the East now and ESPN was showing the Connecticut game. Our friends, in the Midwest were watching ISU. At halftime the Conn. game had ended and they switched to ISU and we watched the second half of the game. Again very close and it only became a ‘good’ game when ISU pulled off the upset, overcame a 17-point deficit and won.

Will I get to watch them in the NCAA tournament? Probably not, we’ll most likely be in a campground where there is no cable. But, as our friends say: Get a dish.
