Ohio Key, FL - Hiking the 7-mile Bridge

And, if you think we hiked the whole bridge, you’re nuts. Nah, we didn’t hike 7 miles nor did we hike the 7-mile bridge. But, we hiked on the old Flagler Railroad bridge next to the 7-mile bridge which has been redone into a bike/hike bridge. Here’s the bridge we hiked and the 7-mile bridge is in the background.

Not everyone hikes it, some find imaginative means of transportation.

Since there is an island at the end of the bridge (which you can see in the first picture), and no other means to get to the island except by a long boat trip, the owner of the island uses a golf cart to haul his groceries and his guests to his home on the island.

We talked with a woman who is going to open a pedicab service for the bridge for those who can no longer or don’t want to walk the bridge.
