AJ, AZ - Letting the Bones Creak

Today, we’re taking a day off since we’re both a bit weary. We did, however, go to the library to use their internet service and we even got library cards. Since we’ll be here for more than a month, we can get cards and check books out.

A few weeks ago, we left Flagstaff, AZ the day before a snowstorm hit. We left Sedona and now we hear that they had snow last night. We’re in trouble, there’s only so far south we can go to avoid the snow. we have reservations here for 2 months and can’t leave when we wish - just to avoid snow. Not that I’m expecting snow in Phoenix but one never knows. Actually the last snowstorm in Phoenix was last December, 2010. They had a dusting so I shouldn’t think it impossible.

The weather in Phoenix was hotter than normal this summer as we all heard on the national weather services. So far this fall, it has been cooler than normal and everyone is excited. They deserve some cooler weather.

Here’s the view from our front window - in the background are the Superstition Mountains. In the middle between the two palm trees is a cliff which looks like the prow of a ship, flat on top and tilted upward. that’s called the Flatiron and is a well-known hike in the area. The more we look at it, the more we want to hike it.

We took the opportunity of using the resort wi-fi and sat in the large ballroom that they have here.

We hadn’t brought any food to nibble on so I bought some ‘snacks’ from the vending machine they had. I meant to push E5 which was the Clif Bar but pressed E4 instead, the jalapeño flavored soy beans. What don’t I understand about numbers?
